Conversion of licences may usually be done in a local club. You will find all Norwegian clubs HERE.
To convert a foreign licence you will need to bring the licence and documentation of your experience to the club. After having signed up as a member of a club and paid membership fees and compulsory basic insurance, you will have to demonstrate your practical skills in groundhandling, a school hill and altitude flight(s) + write a theoretical exam. The theoretical exam is available in Norwegian and English on-line.
You will need theoretical knowledge in aerodynamics, meteorology, practical flying, rules and regulations, material knowledge and first aid. You will find the requirements in our safety system and training programs, which may be found HERE. (In Norwegian). The theoretical syllabus is stated in the training programs and are for hang gliding covered by this book. For para- and speedgliding this book is used (available in Norwegian and English). Rules and regulations are found HERE.
To become a member, find your local club HERE and sign up. You will receive an invoice for membership in Norges luftsportforbund, the HPS section, the local club and compulsory basic insurance, usually by the end of the next businessday.
